The Carrick to host clubgolf Argyll & Dunbartonshire volunteers event

September 2009

The event is being organised by clubgolf as a thank you to all volunteers involved in the clubgolf programme in Argyll & Dunbartonshire.


clubgolf is a partnership between the Scottish Golf Union (SGU), the Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association (SLGA), the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA), the Golf Foundation and sportscotland.

This year 1840 children in Argyll & Dunbartonshire primary schools were introduced to golf through clubgolf’s introductory game, firstclubgolf,  Twenty four golf clubs in Argyll & Dunbartonshire, and a growing band of qualified volunteer coaches, are offering clubgolf coaching.

“This will be both a fantastic day out for our volunteer coaches and an opportunity for them to meet clubgolf coaches from other clubs and share their experiences,” said Colin Bell, clubgolf Regional Manager for Argyll & Dunbartonshire.

“We are grateful to the Carrick for helping us to create this opportunity and delighted to be able to offer a day of golf and refreshments at this fantastic venue for just £30 per entrant.”

Who can enter?
The event is open to any of the following people involved in clubgolf programmes within Argyll & Bute, West Dunbartonshire and East Dunbartonshire:

clubgolf volunteer coaches
clubgolf Coordinators
clubgolf volunteer Helpers
Junior Conveners at participating clubs
PGA Pro’s involved in delivery of clubgolf
Active Schools Staff from Argyll & Bute, East Dunbartonshire & West Dunbartonshire

Completed entry forms and entry fees should be returned to Colin by Monday 21st September 2009.

Entry Fee includes:                 
Bacon Rolls & Tea/Coffee on arrival
Complimentary practice balls on the driving range
18 holes of golf (Individual Stableford Competition)
Soup & sandwiches on completion of your round

Prizes will include:
2-ball for a course of your choice at Gleneagles in 2010
3 individual places in the 2010 Hydro Scottish Challenge clubgolf Pro-Am
Additional prizes for Nearest the Pin
