As part of their sponsorship deal with clubgolf partner the SGU, Dunfermline Building Society are proud to support the Junior Club of the Year Award which recognises those clubs in Scotland which have demonstrated excellence in managing their Junior Section.
At the Scottish Golf Dinner on 27th March, Ranfurly Castle were unveiled as DBS Junior Club of the Year 2008. They received £1,000 towards development of their junior golf programme, as well as two places on a team at a European Tour Pro-Am later in 2009.
Amongst the audience at Glasgow's Crowne Plaza Hotel were representatives from the five runner up clubs Duns, Kirkintilloch, Palacerigg, Powfoot and Stranraer. Each of the runner up clubs received £300.
Again there was a healthy entry to the competition, with commendations on their contribution to junior golf development going to all 29 clubs whose applications were considered for the final shortlist.
Details of the Junior Club of the Year 2009 Awards will soon appear on this page.
