New Shiskine clubhouse opens
June 2010
Arran’s Shiskine Golf & Tennis Club officially opened its new clubhouse on Saturday 29 May.
Around 200 members and guests attended the opening which was carried out by Shiskine’s oldest playing member, Colin Bannatyne.

The old clubhouse had been gradually extended over the years since the club was formed back in 1896 but had fallen into disrepair over recent years.
The project was assisted by a grant from sportscotland and the facilities now include a dedicated junior room for the ever increasing junior section (currently standing at 36) who participate in the clubgolf programme; one of whom is Scott Fotheringham the head greenkeeper’s son pictured hitting the first putt on the new putting green.
Gordon Stewart said: “This has been a long time coming but the new building with its modern facilities is much needed and is already being praised by the members and visitors along with the local community.
“We now have excellent facilities to match the excellence of our course and we thank sportscotland and clubgolf for their support and guidance.”
